What is ISS ?
The Inter-Squadron Skin Synchronizer (ISS) is a lightweight tool designed for IL-2 Great Battles players. It simplifies the process of synchronizing custom skins between players across multiple collections, particularly those from different squadrons.
Why ?
When squadrons play together regularly, it's essential for all members to share the same custom skins. This ensures that everyone sees the aircraft in-game the same way, enhancing immersion and squadron identity. ISS makes it easy to keep skins updated and synchronized for all players, so you no longer have to worry about manually downloading or managing skins.
Key Features
- Ease of Use: Simply provide players with a .iss fileāISS handles the rest.
- Automatic Updates: Stay up to date with new skins from the collections you follow.
- Flexible Collections: Choose to sync all or just a selection of skins from a squadron's collection.
- See the size of these collections and their potential disck usage
- Cockpit Notes Sync: Synchronize your cockpit notes alongside skins
Limitations and future enhancements
- This is still an initial version, and we appreciate your understanding. Some instabilities may occur.
- Additionally, the user interface (UI) still needs improvement, and we are working on a much more refined version.
- Build skin collections hosted across multiple platforms is a probable future feature. However for the moment, we have made the choice to limit synchronizations with HSD skins.
